AI workshop for educators
AI is changing how we live, work, and learn. How can teachers stay ahead without getting overwhelmed? That’s what we explored in a hands-on AI workshop with the school program at ISOP, a nonprofit based in Graz, Austria, that helps young adults complete their compulsory education.
The goal: empower teachers to explore the creative, time-saving, and responsible use of AI in their daily work. Over the course of one afternoon, we explored what AI is, how it works, and why it matters, especially in education.
My role: design and facilitate a half-day, in-person AI workshop for educators.
Exploring tools: we played with easy-to-access tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, ElevenLabs QuillBot, Midjourney, Canva, and Suno, and discovered how they can support lesson planning, simplify repetitive tasks, and help students grasp abstract concepts in new ways.
AI ethics: we also tackled the big questions: What does AI mean for teaching ethics? Where do we draw boundaries around trust, bias, or control? And how can educators model curiosity and critical thinking? We spoke about data quality, model training, security, and societal and environmental impact.
